PRIVATE TOURS

About

Private tours are priced per group and the service is exclusive – there will be no other travellers on the tour. Each tour takes 3 hours and it’s priced per person – to check the price please use our online booking form. We offer you 6 prearranged programs and “Custom-Tailored Tour”, which you should choose if you would like to modify the tour program or set up a tailored one, with the help of our advisors.

Group size and number of cars

Most of the private tours can be booked right away for a group of 1 to 45 persons (1-6 minibuses) through our online booking system. Some of the tours have limited capacity – if you need more spots please contact us and we will set up a tailored offer for you.

Pickup

Pickup service from hotels, Airbnb and apartments is available up to 3 kilometres radius from the city centre. If your hotel/apartment is located farther or it’s not reachable by car our advisor will suggest the closest and most comfortable meeting point. Please note, that transfer from and to the hotel is counted into the total time of the tour. Sometimes it is better to meet the guide in the city centre, rather than spend the time on transfer from the far located pickup spot.

Tour starts from the very pick up at the hotel, meeting point or any other chosen location. All of our guides are 100% professionals that earned their experience throughout the years to show off with their exquisite manners and indisputable knowledge but not to bore you to death at the same time. Actual sightseeing begins at the Old Town, where after a stop there will be a little bit of walking next to the Royal Castle, St. John’s Cathedral and through the market square of The Old Town itself. From the middle ages and renaissance, our Żuk minibus time machine takes us to the XIXth and the XXth century. Russian occupation of Warsaw in the XIXth century, two World Wars in the XXth century, signs of them are still out there for us to find.

Moving on to Praga gives one opportunity to feel the artistic vibe of this district thanks to all the murals and artists workshops located nearby. The XIXth century factories and production facilities are now converted into post-industrial neighbourhoods with plenty of lofts, restaurants, and museums and that brings a wind of change to sometimes dilapidated yet still beautiful premises. Last but not least are the communist times and pieces of architecture.

Thanks to Żuk communist minibus it will all feel genuine and real. Former communist party headquarters, former propaganda dept. with a monument dedicated to freedom of speech opened just a few years ago, not to forget the momentous, Gotham City style Palace of Culture and Science all these places are still here to be discovered.

Great way to start the exploration of Warsaw by the ones that want to do it very properly. From the very pickup tour revolves around the classic theme of local sightseeing covering all the important sites. At the very beginning be prepared to walk for a while around the Old Town. After admiring the Royal Castle and Swedish king standing on a top of a column in front of it you move on deeper into the Old Town to see st. Johns cathedral which is the very first church in Warsaw and also a place where the remainings of the last king of Poland are buried. Tremendous place to tell one history of the first republic in Europe. Just meters away, in the middle of the market square, stands a symbol of the city – the mermaid. There are a lot of legends to be told as well as some real stories about some real mermaids. The Old Town is ringed by defence walls, and the remaining gate is called Barbakan, another crucial part of Top Classics of Warsaw tour. On the way from The Old Town to Pilsudski sq. the tour passes a couple of monuments dedicated to Warsaw Uprising, a revolution from the year 1944. The most important pre-war city square is still surrounded by very important structures like Garrison of Warsaw, Great Theatre National Opera House and many different prestigious hotels. The last part of the tour is Lazienki Park with Palace on the Isle that used to be the summer residence of the last king of Poland. Today it is still a place where one can meet with music, theatre and art.

Be awed and astonished by the vehicle that picks you up that is a communist minibus called Zuk. 10 miles per gallon, wooden floor and produced in communist Poland – all that adds a meaningful piece of reality to your experience. Zuk is just a mode of transportation though. Different stops mean different parts of the communist history of Poland, even that this relatively short era in recent history had its flaws and advantages. For instance, literacy was brought up to 99.9% but at the same time freedom of speech was reduced dramatically, it basically didn’t exist. Women got the same opportunities as men when it came to jobs, positions, education and more as early as in the ’50s but a pair of jeans would cost you three average monthly salaries. All the regular shops had empty shelves and foreign currency department stores were full of goods except one had basically no foreign currency to use in there. Imagine a place where a used car would cost you twice as much as a brand new one… Welcome to communist Poland. All of that above and more will be told in a subtle, suitable and chronological manner thanks to a proper schedule. Historically tour starts at the dusk of WW2 to quickly move to post-war reconstruction of Warsaw with new communist ideas of green, spacious and monumental neighbourhoods. Then you hit deep and hard communism of the ’50s and ’60s with the Palace of Culture and Science still being the biggest star of them. The ’70s came with a lot of goods imported to Poland, workers strikes and born of Solidarity but that ended rapidly when martial law was introduced. Finally, communism in Poland came down to a stop with the Round Table Agreement and Free Elections on 4th of June 1989.
